“The textured pottery I make today has evolved over a lifetime of working in the arts. I have played with many materials and media and seem to always come back to clay. I have earned a bachelors degree from the University of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and a masters degree from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. I have taught K-12 art for 14 years and have led numerous workshops on art and culture incorporating arts into the classroom curriculum. My whimsical teapots have gained national recognition. After spending 27 years in Arizona and New Mexico, I returned to Wisconsin to reinvent my life as a studio potter. I sell my art at juried art shows in the Midwest. Visitors are welcome to visit my studio by appointment please.
I find joy and peace when I sit down to create something new and am most content perfecting the functional pieces I bring to juried art shows. My emphasis is on surface texture and pattern. I carve my stamps out of clay, then roll or individually stamp each piece with loving care. I experiment with new patterns on the mini dishes and experiment with new glazes on the mini dishes and vases...spending the time to make each one a special piece of art. My patterns are a result of my connection with nature. My hope is that you enjoy using my pieces as much as I enjoy making each piece.”
